My research focuses on developing low-carbon and durable solutions for infrastructures with climate adaptability and resilience as well as energy-efficient and healthy buildings under climate change. The research on climate resilient infrastructures is related to the climate adaptation and resilience of SB64 with the consideration of energy, transport and building infrastructures that may experience reduced service life and high life-cycle maintenance costs under climate change.

Besides, my research on energy-efficient and healthy buildings looks at another angle of climate adaptation, within the scope of SB64. The research also indirectly contributes to gender equity and just transition of climate actions related to applying energy-saving technologies and retrofitting buildings for improved thermal performance.

One big issue the SB64 needs to address is the strategy of framework development to guide the real-life actions and research developments for the topics covered by the meetings.

Another big issue to address is the analytical tool to integrate actions for different topics that have interdependencies, such as Adaptation and Resilience, Budget, Climate Technologies, with actions for one topic influencing another.

Last but not the least, the required innovation and priorities over time for each research topic should be determined through collaborative efforts from the participants. A roadmap of the innovation required to address climate change would be necessary.

I am keen to hear the climate actions and research developments across countries to understand the landscape of practice and research to address climate issues. I would also share observations and views from my research on climate adaptation and resilience from the perspective of infrastructures and built environment at the SB64 meetings to influence the future work for climate technology, budget, innovation etc. Besides, I am also interested in networking with stakeholders addressing climate change issues and collaborating to drive the innovation and development for addressing climate challenges.
