Julie Mair
- Position
- Climate Plan Research Engagement Officer
As the Climate Plan Research Engagement Officer, I work across all parts of the Climate Principles programme to facilitate links between the university’s climate plan and its research, education and impact goals. I work with academics, professional services, students and local and regional bodies to create opportunities for student development, develop Living Lab projects and ensure that the aims of the Climate Plan are embedded across campus activity.
My background is in utilities, where I worked on carbon emission and fuel poverty reduction projects and on water market deregulation. I returned to university in 2017 to do an MSc in Climate Change and Environmental Policy before focusing on climate adaptation, firstly as a researcher and then as a practitioner delivering the University of Leeds’ Climate Change Risk and Resilience Review.
