Project: Identifying strategies for net zero agriculture in the UK under climate change pressures

This is an interdisciplinary project between the School of Biology and Priestley International Centre for Climate. The main objective is to identify whether greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from production-phase arable agriculture can be offset using carbon sequestration and GHG mitigation strategies on farmland to achieve ‘net zero’ emissions. I will also be testing whether these net zero agriculture scenarios are resilient to future climate projections and identify any potential trade-offs that may arise.
