Project: How do climate, ozone and crops interact to impact on health and nutrition?
For my project I look at the interaction between climate change and air pollution and their combined effects on agricultural crop systems in terms of final yield and crop nutritional properties. Therefore, my PhD expands both on atmospheric chemistry and crop modelling for the estimation of surface ozone concentration and damage to crop yield but also on the alteration of crop nutritional properties which affect human diets. For this reason, I’m co-supervised by Dr. Caroline Orfila who is at the School of Food Science and Nutrition.
