Connecting Voices for Climate Action

As part of The Future of Innovation series hosted by Nexus, this event explored what a low carbon future looks like, how it will be financed, and how businesses of all sizes and sectors can build resilience and rise to the challenge.

Friday 23 April - Vice-Chancellor Professor Simone Buitendijk will gather a number of key voices to discuss the role of academic institutions in driving ambition for COP26 and establishing the legacy of cooperation and innovation that is needed to deal with the existential threat of climate change.

Saturday 17 and Saturday 24 April - Young people from across the UK and South Africa will meet online to share their lived experiences of climate impacts, supported by academics and students from the University of Leeds. This virtual cultural exchange will launch 'The Ripple Effect' to amplify young voices and influence the climate action plans of local decision makers everywhere. This event is by invitation only.
