Earth Day events get airing

Date

The Priestley Centre’s Ask a Climate Scientist event for Climate Education Week have been covered by the Huffington Post and BBC Radio Leeds. Dr Julia Steinberger and Dr Anna Hogg were both interviewed by Paul Hudson for The Weather Show, broadcast across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Dr Steinberger spoke about the wider climate policy context while Dr Hogg, who has recently returned from Greenland, spoke about how climate change is affecting the Arctic.

Both will be panellists at the event, which is being held at Mill Hill Chapel in Leeds City Square at 18.00 on Thursday 27 April. The event is part of a series of public engagements the Priestley International Centre for Climate has been conducting across the week in Leeds to tie in with Earth Day’s theme of climate literacy.

Questions for the panellists have been collected at sessions in Leeds Kirkgate Market and on campus at the University of Leeds. The panel of five also includes Prof Piers Forster, Director of the Priestley Centre, Prof Jason Lowe,  Head of Climate Services at the Met Office Hadley Centre and a new Priestley Chair, and Dr Frin Bale who works across the Energy Research Institute and the Sustainability Research Institute at Leeds.
