There was a huge turnout of almost 400 people for the public debate ‘Unpacking the Paris Agreement: is it enough to limit dangerous climate change?’ at the University of Leeds Conference Centre on Wednesday 3 February. The event, presented by the Royal Meteorological Society Yorkshire Centre, Priestley International Centre for Climate and the Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy, featured a distinguished panel of University of Leeds academics Piers Forster, Andy Gouldson, Harriet Thew and JohnBarrett, each of whom gave short presentations and spent a lively evening answering questions from the audience. The event was live tweeted by the Priestley Centre using the hashtag #COP21Leeds, which proved a popular way of engaging with the audience in the auditorium and beyond. Read all about the evening, and view tweets, photos and links to related articles in our Storify story.
