Priestley PhD researcher Pierre Moorsom will introduce a participatory film called Holding Hands, made by Malawian smallholder farmers. The film was funded by a Priestley Centre Pump Priming Fund award.

“The power to make change often appears to be out of our hands. Working together to reclaim power in our local contexts, can be the first step to creating the world we want to see. It involves deep self-reflection, collective deliberation and ongoing peaceful communication.

“This film, set in a sleepy Malawian village, was made by a group of smallholder farmers, who came together to discuss and resolve some of their own problems.”

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Pierre Moorsom afterwards.
